Wednesday in Nicaragua

Contrary to popular belief and as much as we would all like to

No babies are being adopted or brought home with us.

Wednesday found us weary and emotionally spent. The clinic at the dump really took a lot

out of. It is really unbelievable that anyone should have to live like that. We offered them

some help physically but the only real hope we could give them is the same as our---JESUS.

Thank you God for allowing us this time to be here and minister to the people of Nicaragua.

Thank you church family for holding us up in prayer. we have felt your prayers and they have given us the strength to make it through this gut wrenching week. The poorest of the poor in USA would be quite wealthy in Nic.

We started the day at Chapel with Jeff Willis singing the Anchor Holds. He shared with us that Joey Mixon had used those words to Jeff when Jeff found out he had throat cancer. The Anchor does truly hold as we have found out this week.

When Rick Orso gave the devotion and told of Chris' spiritual growth this trip there was not a dry eye---God has truly blessed me this week with the devotions. They have meant so much.

After a breakfast of Tony the tigers(frosted flakes ) and milk and fresh off the tree bananas

we boarded the bus. We headed off to the volcano, the lagoon and the market at Masaya.

The volcano is gorgeous and we climbed the stairs above it to the foot of a cross.

The Market was fun we took Scarla, Maria Jose, and Elye with David, Steve, Will and I and

Jeff and Leslie took Melissa with them. It was fun to see how excited they were at eating

in a restaurant(they ate every bite---"scarfed it down") We bought them a bracelet and a necklace and you would think we gave them a million dollars.

Joe took Edwin and bought him a shirt and hat and he wore them all night.

The lagoon is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. After a day of being on the bus and being really hot we were all glad to get and and enjoy the breeze from this crater turned lake.

We arrived back to the farm, got ready for church and headed out to Brother Amos' church.

Again they know how to worship from the heart. Jeff Willis said even though we didn't understand their words we heard their heart for God.

Rick Jordan--be prepared your choir members learned a new song that they want to teach to the congregation---Move a Mountain---it is awesome!!!

Thank you God for helping us to have a day of rest. Some of us felt guilty that we weren't doing more clinic but I know you prepared this beautiful day for us.
