July 1, 2009 in SD

Is it really July??? Wow!! This year and especially this SUMMER is going by soo fast!

This morning we woke to another beautiful peaceful day at Pacerville Camp. We had a delicious breakfast of egg, sausage, blueberry coffee cake and fruit.

After our morning devotions we headed out to our various sites.......

Group 1 worked so hard today cutting boards, drilling the screws in to replace the
boards on the playground that were broken. Then they started painting........

Group 2 borrowed painters from group 1 to paint the outside of a house---they finished--yea!!!!

Group 3 worked on the roof again and finished---tomorrow they are going to put flooring down in the kitchen of the house....

Group 3.5 --we split off from group 3 yesterday and today and got Marlita's fence looking great--we poured more concrete and spent most of the day staining the fence--it looks soo good!

At 12:45 groups 1, 2 and 3.5 met at site 1 for VBS. We had a big group of kids and we teamed with another church that is here from Arkansas ---we did the music and the story. Katie Trotter headed the music group and the story group told the story of Peter---with a special guest--check out the pictures to see!! Jacob S ended out part of the VBS time with questions--we were amazed at how well the kids had listened to the story!! Then it was play time--our kids that were not painting the playground had a great time playing with the kids--again you have to see the pix!!!

What a day--God is so good he held the rain off so we could finish our jobs!

Supper time is coming--grilled chicken, rice and veggies--last night we had grilled chops, baked potatoes and yeast rolls---needless to say we have enjoyed our meals here they have been soo good...brownies and peanut butter rice krispies with chocolate icing for desert---as Jerry spencer would say---we are suffering for the Lord :)

Our worship services each night have been good---Drew is the worship leader and Michael gives us a short sermon to think on. Then we break into small group time with our church and share about our day--it is a sweet end to our day.

By lights out at 10:30 we are all ready for a good night's sleep---
